After the holidays, you can help keep our area green!

December 21, 2007

Albany, NY, December 21, 2007 – As part of their 35th Anniversary, Cambridge Systematics, Inc., is pushing to go green. They are encouraging their employees to take steps to protect the environment through various conservation methods.

Staff members of Cambridge Systematics based out of Albany, NY are partnering with eLot, Electronics Recycling, Inc., The Holiday Inn, Firkin Fox, and The Barnsider Restaurant to host a community-wide electronic recycling day.

The event invites the community to drop off electronics that they would typically discard as trash, and instead bring them to the event to be recycled by eLot, Electronic Recycling, Inc. of Troy.   There is no charge to properly recycle most items, but there is a $15 fee required for the proper recycling of televisions.

At the event, there will be a raffle with gift certificates from the above sponsors awarded to the winners. The proceeds of the raffle will benefit the Pine Bush Preserve Commission’s work to save the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.  A member of the organization will be on hand to hand out information on their efforts.

The community-wide electronic recycling day will be held January 5, 2008 from 9am to 1 pm in a parking lot at the Holiday Inn at 205 Wolf Road in Albany, NY.   The community is being encouraged to come and sponsor this important environmental initiative and to check out www.elotrecyling.com for more details.
